Luna Gold releases assay results from Arizona gold project, Brazil

This data coupled with the latest results indicate that like Piaba, Tatajuba is open along strike and at depth. The current drilling program is being conducted to provide additional data for a new resource and reserve estimate for Tatajuba."

Dr Haggan continues, "The gold results from BRAZD-239 are significant in that they confirm that mineralization extends at depth and remains open. No drill holes have yet defined the base of mineralization at Piaba. Following the latest results, Luna's drilling is now concentrated on testing the deeper portions of the deposit to assess the depth extent and resource potential of Piaba Deep."

About Luna Gold Corp

Super Bowl Stars Sing on Gospel Music Channel This Weekend

A 90-minute Super Bowl Gospel Celebration 2008 TV special will world premiere exclusively on the Gospel Music Channel television network this Saturday, February 9th at 9:00 pm ET/PT.

The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration 2008 was recorded live at Symphony Hall in Phoenix, AZ, site of Super Bowl XLII, last Friday, Feb. 1. Tyree and Watson joined players and coaches representing all 32 NFL teams, including All-Pro's Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Ray Lewis and Chicago Bears Defensive tackle Tommie Harris, to form the choir. The choir was lead by gospel legend Donnie McClurkin, who co-hosted the show along with David Mann, aka Mr. Brown from Tyler Perry's House of Payne television series and Perry's movies. Patti Labelle, CeCe Winans, Marvin Winans and Martha Munizzi were among the featured performers of Super Bowl Gospel Celebration 2008, the only gospel event sanctioned by the National Football League for Super Bowl Weekend.

Showing her true colours

Nine studio albums later she is still touring, most recently alongside artists including Debbie Harry, the Dresden Dolls, Rufus Wainwright and the Gossip, for the True Colours tour of the US, a human rights tour which she organised.

A strong supporter of gay rights (her sister is a lesbian), Lauper will perform at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardis Gras this year, as well as doing her own shows. There's also a new CD in the pipeline – her first collection of new music since 2003's Shine, which "never even made it out of the box", because it was released only in Japan.

"I'm under the crunch to get it done," Lauper says of her new, as yet unnamed, CD.

"I worked with people from all over the world, which kind of makes it a little more interesting, but harder to get everything together.

Rob Zaleski: UW team aims to aid New Orleans bayou

Kate Tillery Danzer had been bracing for the worst.

She had seen TV footage in August 2005 of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. She read numerous accounts of the horrifying aftermath and the shockingly inept response of FEMA and other government agencies.

And she had talked to her colleagues on the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Water Resources Management team who'd already begun work on a project to determine the feasibility of restoring Bayou Bienvenue, a cypress swamp next to the poor Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans, which had been particularly hard hit.

But when the 33-year-old UW grad student was given a tour of the neighborhood upon arriving in New Orleans last June -- nearly two years after the worst natural disaster in U.S. history -- she was shaken to the core.

Maoists in Nepal Accused of Fomenting Political Crisis

With national Constituent Assembly (C.A.) elections due on April 10, the Maoists have been sending chilling messages around the country that they will seize power if they do not win, according to local media reports.

Leading national newspapers have become critical of the Maoists' "non-competitive" style of doing politics, saying it is a return to the tactics they adopted during their decade-long insurgency of 1996-2006.

Despite joining mainstream politics and the government in 2007, Maoist leaders have failed to deliver on their promise to abide by normal, competitive politics, according to local independent analysts.

Maoists 'Acting Like Rebels'

"The Maoists are still acting like rebels and not like a responsible political group. Their leaders are members of parliament but cannot control their own party members who disrespect the rule of law," said Pyakhurel.
